People saying Whole Foods is comparable to Trader Joes has never been to a Trader Joes.
While Whole Foods is great (also known as whole paycheck) it is not like Trader Joes are far a prices go. I'm not sure any place is. I too loved Trader Joes - can't beat the prices/quality. You would think that Colorado would be an ideal place for it, but it is the liquor laws that will keep it out.

Actually, due to colorado liquor laws you'll never see a trader Joes in Denver. A friend of mine considered the franchise here. Whole Food in Cherry Creek is just as good if not better.

Ikea maybe, but there is so much better things out here do I don't think it'll fly.

I totally agree -- I miss Trader Joe's and IKEA, but I have also sent numerous requests that they consider opening stores here.

American Furniture Warehouse has similar prices to Ikea and Sunflowers Market is close to Trader Joe's in selection, but neither are exactly the same.

Maybe sending emails to the corporate HQ of each company might help make them consider Denver for future expansion?

I agree with the other posters so far. Also why would your decision be based on IKEA of all stores??? It is cheaply made college dorm furniture. Plus I'd imagine Denver has some furniture places and places similar to Trader Joes.

I heard Denver is a great city (and the guys there are hot!). Anyways I am sure Denver will have something similar then Trader Joes and with Ikea, can't you order online within United State?. I know you need to pay delivery but it might be worthy because they are cheap and have great staff...

anyways good luck.

Girl if you want to move, move. Don't let a couple stores hold you back. You only live once. Those stores my have on line shopping and you could do that. I'm sure you'll find some kewl stores in Denver.

I wouldn't choose a place to live based on stores. I like those stores too but Denver is a big place and you'll find other comparable places or stores for other things that will become your new favorites. Also, stores sometimes close, so you never want to pick a place based on that alone.
