I have friend at downtown Aspen, CO and wanna visit her once around the year. I'm not there for skiing. So, besides avoiding the peak season which is around from Dec. to April, is there anything else I should consider to get the best airline ticket ??? Anyone knows when is the time I should book the ticket to get the cheapest one, yet still have some places in Aspen to stay? (uhm, it's downtown Aspen, it isn't gonna go ghost-town off-season, is it?? :( )

We want to rent a cabin where we can have a great winter holiday and a family reunion of sorts. Where would you recommend we travel? Colorado? Montana? Idaho? Somewhere else? What towns? We don't especially need restaurants. We need well-stocked grocery store and a place with toboganing/sledding/skiing available. If you know of, or own a place in the area where we should go, please let me know this as well. Thanks for your replies.

...and if you have a link to their website.

Also, other links for a job search in Denver (not Monster or Headhunter) would be much appreciated.

On the outskirts of Denver Colorado, I've seen these huge white globes, they almost look like golf balls. Does anyone know what they are for. I've seen a lot more since the last time I drove by, it's on I-470.

I am looking at getting work in Aspen. Those of you native to the area, what are some valid areas to live? I ain't rich, so buying a place is pretty much out of the question. I am willing to commute a reasonable distance. It looks like Carbondale is probaby viable, though on the outside edge of that limit.

My best friend is getting married and I am planning a girls weekend to Denver this summer. What is a super nice hotel that is downtown, maybe a little modern. I want to say price is no object, but weddings are expensive :) and so are bridesmaid dresses. Any suggestions?? Thanks.

My family and I will be moving to Fort Collins in summer of 2008. My daughter will be three then. My husband, my step-son and I are mostly Caucasian, but we look 100% white :) My daughter is 1/2 Mexican, but looks 100% Mexican. In the area we live now (rural southern community) there is a great deal of bad sentiment towards Hispanics, specifically Mexicans. Many times we have gone places, my daughter has recieved dirty looks and/or comments. Not saying everyone here feels badly towards Hispanics, but there are quite a few. I am hoping since Hispanics have a long history in Colorado that sentiment towards them there would be better than here. Which leads me to my questions.
How are Hispanics (specifically Mexicans) thought of in the Fort Collins/Denver Area?
Is it very usual to see a white mother with a Hispanic looking child in the Fort Collins/Denver Area?
Do you think my child will be looked at as "different" there as she is here?

Everyone has their own idea on good neighborhoods - however usually people agree on where to stay out of. So rather than asking where to go - I want to know where to stay out of.

I am looking to work in Downtown Denver and have two small children.

Thanks!!

So we are most likely going to be relocating to Denver soon, and I am wondering how the altitude and dry air effects the skin.

Currently in Seattle, I have to fight oil and use VERY light moisturizers or I will break out - I suspect Denver's climate will change this to needing heavier moisturizers?

My husband's company is transferring him to Fort Collins from north Georgia in the summer of 2008. I know it was voted the best place to live by money magazine, so I though it sounded good. I am in my 30's and love the outdoors, my husband is in his 40's and also loves the outdoors and especially flyfishing. When we move our daughter will be 3 and our son will be 14. Any and All comments, advice, must do, must avoids, etc. from people who know about Fort Collins will be greatly appreciated

My fiance and I are moving from Iowa to Denver. We need to live in the Northern suburbs of Denver based on my fiance's job. Trying to plan this from so far away is very hard when I am completely unfamiliar with the area. I was looking for somebody to reccommend apartments in Westminster, Northglenn or Thronton. We want nice, safe and good price. Also, if you have anything to say about Indigo Creek, Ironwood at the Ranch or Red Hawk, I'd appreciate any responses. Thanks!!

HI! Me and my mom are flying to denver colorado tomarrow to visit my older brother in college. We are spending this whole week there. My brother has classes a lot of the day, so I don't know what to do for fun. My mom and I will go see the mountains and stuff but what do I do on the plane. I have two 3 hour layovers on the way there and I don't know what to bring. I am bringing my iPod (which is fully loaded with new stuff) and my cell phone. I have a handheld electronic Sudoku thinger that I will bring and I am bringing a book. What else should I do during layovers and stuff? Can you bring snacks and water on the plane? The hotel we are staying at has a pool so I will swim but what if I get tired of this stuff? Any creative things I can bring along? (it would be nice if they are not expensive and easy to pack in a carry on.)

Thanks so much! I am SOOO EXCITED! I have been to maine, georgia, arizona, hawaii, and a lot of states but never colorado! I am SOO Happy!

Junk yards are good places to find wacky craft supplies, I am told. Right now I am looking for an old windo screen, for example. I wouldn't know where else to look for something like that.

My boyfriend and I moved from Phoenix to Denver. We drove and it took us about five days to get here due to the weather. We have been here for about two weeks. My boyfriend is having a hard time acclimatizing. He is nausious, dizzy, and says it is hard to breathe. He had asthma as a kid but it only troubles him rarely. He has been resting more and drinking water with oxygen added into it. Are there any other good tips for acclimatizing? The last time he was here he lived here about ten months and never fully acclimatized. I really don't want him to suffer in the altitude.
