I am looking at getting work in Aspen. Those of you native to the area, what are some valid areas to live? I ain't rich, so buying a place is pretty much out of the question. I am willing to commute a reasonable distance. It looks like Carbondale is probaby viable, though on the outside edge of that limit.

Aspen is not very big. If you live in Aspen you live there--there aren't neighborhoods like in bigger cities. The airport industrial park has some apartments, but nothing is cheap.

i loved living in glenwood but thats an extra 7+ minute drive from carbondale. even in glenwood and carbondale you're looking at like 700 for a piece of **** 1 bedroom. would you rather live in an area more hippie like or more yuppie like? closer to aspen the more yuppies the closer to glenwood the more hippies.

I don't know how much you like to settle down, but some friends of mine were working there and would do long term house-sitting in people's vacation homes. It is an option, but you can't put down roots because it isn't your place :)
