We are interested in all types of things; shopping, sports, outdoors, arts, museums, and anything fun and entertaining for my whole family. I have three children 11, 8, and 1.

There is always walking on the 16th street mall, its outdoors and runs for several blocks. The Butterfly Pavillion is nice and I don't think the admission is very much (under $10 for adults I believe). You must drive out west of town the see Red Rocks Amitheater, they have a free museum that you can look through. Are you coming during baseball season? Coors Field is incredible and you can get very cheap tickets at the box office. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is always nice too and the kids would enjoy it. Its right next door to the Zoo and is reasonably priced. Closer downtown is the Ocean Journey Aquarium and Children's Museam. You can do just about anything outdoors, taking a hike, picnic, fishing, biking. You don't have to go far up the mountains to do that too. Just a quick trip to Evergreen or Bailey will provide loads of scenery and options. Longer trips would be Rocky Mountain National Park, Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs, or Vail. idaho Springs isn't very far out of town and the kids can enjoy going in a hot springs pool and there is a cute town there. There is also Tiny Town nearby, the kids might like to see all the minitures there.

Lots to see and do and all the attractions are reasobably priced or close to free. Enjoy your trip!

you can do the zoo it is $9 for 12 and over and $7 for under 12. I believe your 1 year old would be free. Also a fun thing is the butterfly pavillion. It is 7.95 for adults 4.95 for kids and children 3 and under are free. Also not far from Denver many beautiful national park areas. The museum of natural history is a lot of fun, it is pretty cheap too. You cannnot miss if you go to 16th street there are a zillion shops and fun restaurants. You can also take a tour of the mint. I always wanted to do that. I don't know how often they do them though.

Walking and hiking in the beautiful mountain or city areas of Denver doesn't cost a thing! There are so many places to hike that only cost the gas to get there. Some places would be Red Rock Amphitheatre, South Platte Greenway, Cherry Creek path, Highline Canal. Here's a link to a list with more details on these places: http://www.tripadvisor.com/GoListDetail-i803-Ten_Awesome_Places_To_Go_For_a_Walk_in.html

Window shopping is always free. A nice area to do that is Cherry Creek North and the Cherry Creek Mall. The mall has this incredible free play area that your one-year-old will love which is composed of huge plastic breakfast foods that the kids can climb all over! (You have to see it to believe it!)

It wouldn't be expensive to take the kids on the light rail down to the Mineral Station and walk across to the Theo Carson Nature Center. Check www.rtd-denver.com for information on the rail line.

The Denver Zoo is awesome and well worth the price of admission: www.denverzoo.org.

Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison is free and you won't believe the wall of dinosaur tracks that's right there by a road: www.dinoridge.org

We went to Colorado a couple of years ago, but here are some suggestions:
- Celestian Seasonings Factory Tour (it's where they make the Celestial Seasonings teas) in Boulder, CO (free)
- In Denver, a tour of the Denver Mint (given the security after 9/11 you may have to get a letter from your Congressperson to go - you need to check that out, but the tour is free)
- If you like the outdoors and will have a car, you may want to check out the Rocky Mountain National Park (some absolutely spectacular scenery). When you're done there, you may want to check out the shopping in Estes Park.
- I can't remember exactly what town it was in, but we also got a tour of the Phoenix Mine (an abandoned gold mine) and then got to pan for gold in a nearby creek. (This wasn't free, but I don't think it was too expensive).

Colorado springs is about an hours ride south of Denver, the U.S. Air force Academy is there, Garden of the Gods, very nice and scenic, US Olympic Training Center There's a few ideas for you

The Art Museum use to be free on Saturdays. I agree with the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall downtown. Free shuttle busses up and down. Great for souvenir shopping and LOTS of restaurants...fast food and sit down. Movie theatre there.

You don't say when you were coming here, but during the summer there are LOTS of free events in town.

I stay in Denver and super question! Denver is crammed with staggering websites! One ofcourse is Elitch Gardens. each and each value ticket is 35 money. once you pay fo one value ticket you are able to bypass into the water park for unfastened! yet another place you ought to bypass is to Colorado turbines. that's a very massive mall and not so pricy. you would be able to additionally bypass to The iMax. Its particularly interesting there. you will see a great number of stuff like diamonds, a action picture (usually scientific, yet nevertheless interesting), and theres a great number of thigs approximately historic previous. yet another place is sixteenth highway mall. ITs downtown. It isnt indoors. Its only lots of of shops jointly for about sixteen blocks. Its very exciting to be. Theres additionally The Aquarium yet im no longer so advantageous how lots they charge. wish this facilitates & take excitement on your holiday!!
