Heavy moisturizers in deed. The humidity here, or should I say lack of, is going to be a drastic change for you....and I mean drastic.
Skinwise, yes, find a good lotion. While there are some very expensive lotions out there, I have found a couple more affordable ones that do the trick. My favorite is Johnson & Johnson's Extra Care Healing Lotion. They have a couple more called 24 Hour Care and one called Nourishing, but I have found that they don't work as well as the Extra Care variety.
Another good, less expensive one I like is Jergens Ultra Healing. It's a little heavier than the J&J, but it works well.
One more product that I find extrememly helpful is Oil of Olay's In Shower Body Lotion. You rub it over your trouble spots in the shower and then wash it off. Works wonders.
I can make suggestions, but you'll have to try them all and see what works with your skin. I've taken many, practically brand new bottles to work and left them in the restroom because they just didn't do the trick!
Another tip to keeping your skin soft and comfortable is invest in a good humidifier for your home. I am constantly running mine as well as boiling water in the tea kettle on the stove for extra humidity....especially in the winter.
Now....another bit of information you probably don't expect. If you don't have allergies (or hayfever), there's a good chance you will develop some here. I have known many, many people that moved here, never having a single allergy in their life....yet come springtime, they're sniffling, sneezing and itching up a storm. Start with over the counter stuff. Claritin works wonders and is best bought at a place like Sam's Club.
Whew.....well, I hope I helped you out somewhat. Remember lots of lotion and sunblock too if you're going to be outdoors. If you have any more questions I could help with, feel free to contact me.

Do you remember the old commercials from the 80's with the singing California rasins? They're what you'll look like in Colorado without sunscreen and moisturizers. If we get 50 % humidity here after about 10 AM, that's a humid day. Mostly it will be in the 15-35% range depending on where you're at and the time of day. Plan on your nose feeling stuffy a good amount of the time - maybe even the occasional bleeding, your hair will probably look like dried corn silk without a lot of conditioner. I have a co-worker that has to hold the cracks in his hands together with NewSkin during the winter.

I happen to live close to Denver, and trust me you'll need heavier moisturizer and a lot of sunscreen. When I lived in Oregon growing up I never used lotions, now, I couldn't live without them. Seattle is close to the coast so you get a lot of moisture from the sea, out here it's high desert and you're a lot closer to the sun.

It takes longer than a week to see results. Usually about a month. But, you should exfoliate, if your skin is dry, than use the Sensitive Skin Apricot Scrub, cleanser with a cream cleanser, wear moisturizer with SPF 15 in it, and you could buy oil blotting papers to remove the oil that builds up during the day. Try to keep your hair out of your face as often as possible, and try to wear a minimum amount of make-up, and always remove it. Cleanser your face twice a day, and try to do it before 10 p.m @ night, because that's been proven to be the time that skin renews itself best, so you want it to be clean by than already. You could steam your face every night to remove all the dirt that build up in your pores during the day. You can boil a tea kettle (not for the full time, but just till the water starts bubbling) then pour the water in a bowl, put your head over the bowl and put a towel over your head to keep the steam in. This opens your pores, and you can cleanser right after it for extra clean skin. Again,it takes time to see results, so keep doing that for a month or so and you'll see a difference.

I have very oily skin but still use a light moisturizer just because it keeps my skin in balance. I use Oil of Olay because it has 15spf in it. sunscreen is a daily must! It is the number one thing you can do to keep your face looking young and healthy. I use body lotion after every shower or else my arms and legs get extremely dry so bring plenty of body lotion. I keep a little bottle of hand lotion in my purse and throughout the day I put some on to keep my hands moisturized. Most importantly, CHAPSTICK! I have a ton and take them with me everywhere. It is essential. the ones with sunscreen are even better. Finally remember to drink lots of water because that is the real way to stay hydrated, inside and out. Welcome to Colorado!

. Drinking plenty of water is more important than lotions. It's very easy to get dehydrated.in this dry climate.
Myself and family found that Avon Skin-So-Soft works quite well. Also untill you get used to the 300+ days of sunshine you can burn very easily

Contstant moisturizing and hair care. Eventually, your skin and hair will adjust to the change. Slather stuff on at bedtime.
