I'm towing a 30 ft trailer and decided not to take the 70 but I've never been on the 80. Is it a better and safer drive ?

Is I-80 as well a maintained road as the 70 and is it less dangerous than the 70 ?

I like I-80 Better because it has a little more people its maintained a little better and you could pull off if you needed to most of the way anyways but once you get into SLC you have to stay in the right lanes or they will pull you over, I-70 is a nightmare everytime I have ever got on it.

I-80 don't go from Denver to Salt Lake City. I-80 is up in Wyoming. You may be talking about I-70. If you are towing anything on I-70 be aware of crosswinds especially across the passes.

When are you driving it? Telling you what the conditions are today will do you no good - you need to know right at the time you are travelling. I-80 isn't quite as mountainous, but it's also subject to fog which has lead to some horrendous pile ups. I-70 was closed today for avalanche control, which meant we couldn't get up to the ski slopes (boo hoo). But generally, it's a very well maintained and beautiful drive. You need to check out the states' transportation pages right before you commit to which route to take to get the latest conditions.
