Any ideas on where to stay for a resonable rate?
My brother and I are going to go there to vacation and need a place to stay that is nice and clean, but resonable.

am planning a road trip with 4or5 buddies and am looking for a good location to stay. For example a few bars and some interesting tourist locations. I am planning on going to The Chicago Chophouse for dinner if that helps. Or is there a better steak house now. Thanks for any info

In Chicago, that would be Indiana Beach. Not only do they have this really obnoxious crow for a mascot, that is a blatant ripoff of the Maxwell Smart character in Get Smart(rest in peace, Don Adams),

But, the whole place has been falling apart for years. We've
always wondered where the people come from that go to the park.
They look all stinky and hard-up. We think they must come from little hamlets around the state.

The food is gross......the rollercoaster should be condemned

The"water park" is shut down with e coli outbreaks about three times a week. Last time we were there, we saw brown stuff coming out of the pipes, so maybe the sewer of monticello, indiana bleeds out into there somehow.

They have a tacky "Midway" that hasn't been updated since
the depression(1932).

Are there any celebrities that live in Chicago? I'm going to Chicago for vacation and was just wondering if it was like New York City where there's tons of celebs hanging out and walking around.

We're going to Chicago over Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate a special birthday. Which restaurant would be the best to celebrate at? I'm looking for character, not necessarily the most expensive, and someplace unique to the area. Oh and good food of course. Thanks.

Renting a car at MDW and wondering if there is parking to go shopping downtown. If so, is it really expensive?

I am aware that the Amtrak trains have a tendency to run late but on the remote possibility that my train should leave me with time to kill I am looking for things around Union station that I can see or do in a short period of time. It will be during the week and in the daytime when I should be there. Why don't they have a rail travel category?

My parents are coming to Chicago for a week in April 2007. I am looking for a good quality, reasonably priced hotel. I tried the Gold Coast hotel in Lincoln Park but it is unavailable. They would like to stay on the northern edge of Downtown ideally. Any suggestion would be most welcome. Thank you!

Could also say which city is more dangerous. At least half of chicago proper, and ALL of Detroit, is so high-crime that no one,
with any modicum of respect or decency, would be caught dead there. My vote is Detroit, cause Chicago has this really narrow
4-mile wise strip that you see white yuppies and white kids from
the suburbs hang out. The city as a whole(chicago)is a hell-hole,and Mayor Daly spends all the money on the lakefront, while
the west and south sides rot to hell.
