Take I-55 south from Chicago to Springfield. It is a straight shot. Once you get to Springfield you will find Stephenson exit on the south edge of Springfield. The Signature Inn is right there -- you can see it from I-55 -- you right right past it and then have to backtrack on Stephenson to get to it.
It's gonna take you maybe four hours to drive there.

Why not get to Springfield first and THEN ask someone? I'd try the highway...
