I live in Sydney Australia and am moving to Atlanta city. I have no idea about it. Is it safe? Is it nice? Help. I think i'm going to get culture shock as I feel my little life here in sydney is so so different

I will be working in Clarkston, but do not want to live there. I was thiking about Norcross or Stone Mountain. If anyone could provide me information about these areas (or any other communities nearby) I would really appreciate it. In particular, I'm interested in how safe the community is and what the apartment choices are like (still have to rent). Anything else that seems relevant would be appreciated.

Ok Let me ask a different ? I've been doing research and I wanted to live in Ga .. near Atlanta.. what surrounding counties should I live in that I won't have a problem finding a job. At 1st I was thinking to live in a surrounding county to commute to Atlanta but I think that that's impossible or way too much stress. So what county has good job avail. I'm a dental asst/ hygiene asst. Honestly I'll live in any safe area with job availability.

I want to move near Atlanta not in Fulton County because of taxes , crime and a looooot of ppl. But i may want to work there so I was wondering where I should move to. It would be my boyfriend and I. If he doesn't want to go I'm still going. I'm a dental asst in FL ( I live 40mins North of Tampa) and I'm starting my BA online in Jan. I posted this response to another question, but, I wanted all to see. "I really can't stand Atlanta or it's surrounding cities/towns. Traffic bites, the weather can't make up it's mind, finding employment is solely based on "who ya know," crunk music is in an overwhelmingly abundant rotation, folks in government aren't the brightest bulbs, good luck finding booze on Sunday, or Any holiday, even the free stuff has a price, and the educational system is dismal at best." Otherwise, it's ok, if you don't mind traveling 10 years back in time. When my lease is up, we're on the next moving truck back to this century."

I have never been west of New England. I love the feel of small walkable cities. Someone I know mentioned Atlanta or Savannah might be a great place for me to visit.

Around June of next year i would like to transfer my Sec 8 to Atlanta I will be moving from the southern part of NJ I already have a relative that lives there with her children but its hard to contact her.
