I am graduating next year '07 with my associates degree and next fall i'll be planning on moving to Atlanta,Georgia to obtain my Bachelors degree. I'd like to move to Georgia and I'd like some people's opinions about living there. I'm mostly interested in the cities of Athens, Augusta, Atlanta, Donaldsville and Savannah but any info about what it's like to live in Georgia would be good. For example, is your job pay good for what you do, what are the rent & housing prices like, things to do in Georgia/ social life, etc.

I've lived in Atl. for most of my life...now that I actually live in the city (west end), I've come to the conclusion that its not what I thought a metropolis should be. For one, this is NOT the most pedestrian-friendly town. Modern conveinences such as corner stores, markets, reasonably priced shopping areas, reliable public transport, diverse communities (not just the yuppy black couple down the street), living wages, diverse job markets..just do not exist in this sprawling community. There's very little localization!! Other than the stiffling humidity, and cheaper education, ATL has little to offer. Say you agree!
