Atlanta

My boyfriend and I are looking into moving to Atlanta from New York. He will be working in NW Atlanta. Does anyone suggest a nice suburb within 20-45 minutes of Atlanta? I would like an area with very little crime and lots of shopping and restaurants. I have been doing tons of research and they are all so contradicting! One site says Marietta is nice, another site says it's dirty with high crime rates. I am so confused! Also - if anyone knows any nice apartments complexes in these areas - I went on an apartment rating website and there are NO apartments anywhere with all good reviews! I need soooo much help! Thank you!

I live in the north, and everyone I know is sick of the cold weather, and wants to move to Tennessee. Could a northerner really fit in there? What are southeners take on Northeners? As far as schools, jobs, communitys,cultures,what is the difference between the two states? How hot does it really get there? It is about 20 degrees where I live between December and March-brrrrrr.
I know nothing, please any answers would be great.

My family is considering a move to Macon, GA. My sister can work in Alanta, GA we want to know what type of public transportation there is. About how long it would take to get from one city to the other by bus and which buses to take.

The bus schedule for that community doesn't give me the details I am looking for. It only covers the immediate bus lines, I need to know which lines to transfer onto as well.

I live in Georgia. Trying to decide on where to go for Labor Day weekend. I was thinking I could drive to Florida for the beaches, but then isn't it Hurricane season right now? I'm trying to stay on a low budget and I definitely want to go out of town. Maybe somewhere else in GA too if there's any great place I guess. I'm willing to drive anywhere that'll only take 12 hours at the most to get there. Maybe a roadtrip? Gas is way too expensive though to be planning on driving only for a whole week. I want to go somewhere with great scenery, things to do in the daytime, nice night clubs, a beach would be nice but I'd be okay with a Motel with a pool... haha...

I will be in ATL for my anniversary and would like to know what hotels we should stay at. This will be our 1st trip there. We will have a car. I am not looking to spend too much, but I would like to stay somewhere nice. I was interested in the Embassy suites Galleria in Buckhead, but not sure.

Hello all,
My husband and I are looking to relocate to GA in 2007. I am doing my homework to make sure it is the right move, So we are looking to come down in Sept for a week to look at houses and work. What I wanted to know do anyone knows where we can go to look for Excavation/Crane work? or how to get in the union for my husband. He does this type of work. Would it be hard for him to find a job in this field in GA?
