What are some good, upper class suburbs close to the city?

A very nice community that is predominantly upper middle class African American is Stone Mountain, Georgia. Two very nice communities there are called "Water's Edge" and "Southland". The homes here range from the high $100's to the low $400's. Great schools, low crime and GREAT People.

Alpharetta and Roswell to the north. Duluth to the northeast. Douglassville to the west. Marietta to the northwest.
Be prepared for really bad rush hour traffic if approaching from the north, or west.

I haven't been to Atlanta in a few years, but, while you are there, be prepared to duck your head so you don't get shot. Atlanta is the most ghetto city I've been in next to Memphis.

Vinings, in East Cobb, Dunwoody, if you want to be inside the Perimeter, Roswell, are all nice areas.
