I will be in ATL for my anniversary and would like to know what hotels we should stay at. This will be our 1st trip there. We will have a car. I am not looking to spend too much, but I would like to stay somewhere nice. I was interested in the Embassy suites Galleria in Buckhead, but not sure.
I also would like to take my husband out to a nice romantic Restaurant there. Any ideas?

To get a good rate go to www.hotwire.com , select Midtown, Buckhead or downtown. You can always find a great hotel for cheap. I have stayed at the Downtown Atlanta Hilton (very nice place) for $55 on hotwire before.
As for a resturant, be sure to make reservations! I think a great place to dine downtown is the Sun Dial, it is at the top of the Westin Peachtree and it's a very nice rotating resturant. Enjoy yourselves : )

Oh my goodness try the Doubletree hotel off of hammond drive in Dunwoody. Their in house chef is wonderful the rooms are gorgeous but not to pricey.
Romantic dinner always the Sundial.

Check on FareChase, where you can find great rates, reviews and photos of the hotels. Also all the hotels will show on a map, so you can choose the right area for you.

the Sheraton... i was there for the christmas/winter holiday and the place was nice... service was good... the people were great. Friendly. They gave us a free upgrade too since it was our 1st time in ATL.

Westin Peachtree is real nice---especially if you ask for a room near the top, it's got like 70 floors

Ritz-Carleton. I stayed there and it is nice . Right in town.
