Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Grand Rapids is becoming famous for its "Medical Mile", a world-class health science community. There are new medical facilities being built downtown plus a least two new hospitals under construction in the suburbs. Grand Rapids has a low cost of living and high quality of life. There's also tons to do (see link).

My Dad lives in Atlanta... works in a hospital... the pay is really good and he works in admitting. Go anywhere but New Orleans... even if there wasnt so much threat of a hurricane... the crime rate is steadily increasing! Give your baby something more and from what I understand, the schools in Jefferson and Orleans parishes are horrible! If you do have to go back to that area, choose St.Tammany or Baton Rouge.....

If you want to relocate a lot of people come to Spartanburg or Greenville, South Carolina. Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina are really good places. Greenville Hospital is adding on a lot and it looks like they will turn into a university hospital. Check out Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and Mary Black Hospital. I wish you the best in your job search!

Please do not go back to New Orleans with your little baby. There must be a hundred other places that are safer. New Orleans will never be the same and they are predicting that the city will be hit again this year by another hurricane.
Be safe and good luck.
looking on the web might be a good start...

I did not know Houston was expensive. I was thinking of moving there. Is Texas expensive too? What is a typical cost of an apartment in Houston?
I am in the medical field too as administrative.
I live in Maryland which is very expensive.

Atlanta has a shortage of workers in medical fields. But if you can't afford the move, I'm not really sure how you're going to make it...

Why don't you try a temp agency, like Manpower, so you can have money coming in while you look. Good luck.
