ATL offers a cultural buffet. There is usually a decent play playing at one of the many theaters. The city is rich in history, check out the M.L. King Center or Stone Mountain (laser light shows summer evenings). There seems to be a restaurant every 30 yards. The Underground is boring, but touristy. They have the Braves (baseball), the Hawks (basketball), the Falcons (football), the Silverbacks (soccer) and the Thrashers (ice hockey). Zoo Atlanta and Georgia Aquarium are fun. UGA and Georgia Tech sports. UGA is in Athens (about an hour outside the city). Spoken word clubs (Apache). Silver Comet Trail is a bicycle, rollerskate, jog trail from just outside NW atlanta to alabama. The radio stations are always having some type of event somewhere. You could be as bored as you want or have more to do than you can handle.

Great Museums, World of Coke, Outdoor activities are great, boating at Lake Lanier, plus North and South Carolina are close. The new aquarium just opened and is fabulous. If you like to eat there are super restaurants and sporting events. They also have a wonderful theater at the FOX. Probably pales in comparison with New York but it's still good. The Underground is a little sketchy I would avoid it.
I love Atlanta!

There is a lot of stuff to do in Atlanta's Under Ground. You could go to a Braves Game, or you could go visit Elton John...

I found Atlanta pretty boring compared to Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Boston.
