The citiies you mentioned are all very nice but I would stay away from downtown or midtown Atlanta ...Find a nice burb to live in....We have alot of places to go , they just opened an Aquarium, there is Stone Mountain with all sorts of things to do ..they have a fantastic lazer show.......If you like to exercise there is the Silver Comet Rail Trail which goes on for miles and into Alalbama.....It is very nice . We have Six Flags and White water Park. There is Callaway Gardens ..There are alot of nice things to do , depends on what you like to do.....
Rent might be higher than usual but sometimes you can find a good deal............I personally love Georgia, although the summers can get mighty hot , it is still a good place to live.................The fall is beautiful with all the diffrent leaves and trees .....Dogwoods are simply gorgeous.........If you like the beach Savannah is good...and there are alot of older houses and things like that ..It is pretty unique..

I was born and raised in a small town roughly 2 hours from Atlanta. Growing up in Georgia has been an absolutely amazing experience. Three years ago, I moved to Savannah and fell in love with the city. It is a beautiful historic town with something always going on. Whether it's hitting up the restaurants on the bay, going and spending the day listening to live music in Forsyth Park, spending the day hiking the trails at Skidaway Island State Park, going shopping downtown on River Street, or even riding out to spend the evening on Tybee Island beach, there is always something to do. Making the move to Savannah was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. Just take one trip to the city and you will never want to leave. It's got the small hometown feel to it with all the fun and excitement that you would get with a big city. Savannah is the best of both worlds and is an amazing place to live, young or old, it's hard not to fall in love with Savannah!!

I love Atlanta. I actually live in DeKalb County in one of the richest black neighborhoods in Ga. My mother works great hours and my father also does. I work at the Stone Mountain Park and I love what I do because I get to meet different people everyday. Atlanta is known for its fine restuarunts and sizzling clubs. I dont know the exact cost of living being that I still live with my parents and pay no rent. I hope you move to Atlanta and have the best of time learning all the different Peachtree Streets because its about 300 of them. :)
In reference to all the other comments about Atlanta I feel that people have to want to love a new place and not place judgement on it before they really try to experience it. Atlanta is not for old people, nor the home of fat people. I dont understand how you can compare walking around in one city to walking around in another city. Of course they will be different duh! Atlanta is one of the crunkest places to live due to the fact that most music stars start out here. You have to have a want to find the fun and sexy spots in the A. The comment about the gays is so biased it wasnt even funny. You cant see a few people and think that the rest in the state are ugly. ( then you wanna talk about being rasict.. I dont think so! ) If you move to Atlanta come with an open mind. Come ready to have fun and you will find the fun. There are plenty of activites to do with the family as well as an individual. As far as the transportation comment... UMMM have you ever heard of MARTA?! Marta is the best transit company in Georgia. True it only takes you in the Metro Atlanta area but its better than nothing. And in Downtown Atlanta you can walk whereever you want so dont say that we cant walk anywhere. Georgia is a beautiful state and if you are still not sure wether or not you want to live here after reading this I say you come to stay in "da A" for about 2 weeks and see how you like it.

RE:
If you live in Georgia, do you like living in Georgia and why ?
I'd like to move to Georgia and I'd like some people's opinions about living there. I'm mostly interested in the cities of Athens, Augusta, Atlanta, Donaldsville and Savannah but any info about what it's like to live in Georgia would be good. For example, is your job pay good...

Atlanta is really fun :) Its a big city with a lower living cost, esp when you compare it with other big cities like LA or Boston. There are so many great restaurants and nightclubs that you can go to. Buckhead and Midtown are great. For housing/rent prices, it really depends on which part of the city you want to live in, or how big of an apartment you want. But you can get a really nice place for a very good price here.

I have lived in and near Atlanta for 30 years, and I sometimes think I am the last Atlanta native. I enjoy many things about the area, especially the variety of people and cultures represented here. There is a wide variety of activities as well. Things I do NOT like about Atlanta include traffic, weather, and regional elitism. The same kinds of things you run into in every major metropolitan area...
