What ever you do DO not live in the city limits of Atlanta. Number one the crime rates are awful, the school system, unless they are in private schools, is terrible. You need to look at outlying counties. No matter where you look, Section 8 will be in low income areas, the schools will be sub-par and the crime rates will be moderate to heavy. Do your research and look at schools, and communities. Section 8 and good neighborhoods are an oxymoron, you can find a decent one now that they are running illegal immigrants out of here and making land lords clean up. They are doing face lifts all over the metro area, but the city of Atlanta is NOT a good place to raise 4 small kids. The only benefit is the access to public transportation. Most counties now have some form of bus system if that is what you will be needing however. Look at the outlying counties and let the education system be your guide. Ga's education system is slipping badly ranking towards the bottom.

I'm not from Atlanta but I've been there. I was impressed with how friendly the people were. Nothing like any other big City I've been in.

The place that I lived at was in Stone Mt., thas the east side of atlanta. I had lived wit my cousins so i didnt know about the rent but the area was nice it kinda reminded me of the mid-city of st. louis. the high school i attended was cool. only thing you gotta worry about is thundercats (young gangstas) in the area but they generally aint no problem. my friends live in fulton county so you can check that out

Atlanta is a big city. you should check your sec 8 where you live and see if they can reccomend place where you can live. It is expensive to live there.

I wish you the best and Welcome to the South.
