If so how much does it cost? I just want to get an idea before I call and get tied up in something I cant afford. Let me know if you had a positive or negative experience.

Thinking about driving cross country and thought about taking US Route 6 the entire way. I know it goes through towns, but I think it is a good way to see the country.

during the summer of 2007. We like a swimming lake, with light boating, quiet, and near a nice active town. Price is not a concern. Can anyone help us.

In Scotland we're having a drink and having a laugh but in America it's still hours ago due to the time diffence hence sober answers. Would explain grumpy answers. Am I right and just explained a phenomenom?

Any good spots to go, besides the typical tourist stuff?

I don't want to just watch TV and surf the web for the next 3 months.

Hi ya'll:

We are going to Dallas & Northern Texas to recruit the area as we are interested in moving there from California.

While we are in town, we would like to view the touristy sites but all together see what Texas life is all about.

I'm interested to see if other people know of little hidden spots that are worth visiting, and also if some of the well advertised places were not worth going to.

Also, we are celebrating our 4 year anniversary on August 1st and are looking for a great place for dinner downtown but don't want to spend a fortune. What are your thoughts?

I look forward to your feedback!

Kristina

I'm considering moving from L.A. and am trying to determine where I might like to live. I miss seasons and the cost of living here is insane now. I'm considering Austin, maybe Nashville, or elsewhere.
Regarding Austin, I'd like to know more about the following:

Temperatures / seasons. Do you HAVE seasons (i.e. an AUTUMN???) and how humid does it get? Comparable to Arkansas?

Where are the best areas in Austin to live. Is it all flat, or is it diverse with hilly areas, too?

I know it's a big high-tech growth area, but what about other types of job -- say entertainment industry? Live music capitol, I know, but jobs?

Property taxes high/low/average.

Things to do. Musically -- all genres (including REAL rock?) or leaning toward country/western/other?

Diversity -- more "melting pot" or traditional middle America?

I want a place where there are things to do I enjoy, but that isn't such a rat race. All information, advice and suggestions welcomed.

Thank you.

I love Las Vegas! My favorite restaurant probably would be Mesa Grill of Bobby Flay. The buffet at Paris is wonderful as well.

I'm looking to relocate and found that N. Carolina may be the place for me, any suggestions as to where I should go visit first? Preferrably an area that's affordable, I'm not a rich or wealthy city guy.
