Do you think the oyster card is the best for a tourist traveling for 5 days in London? Also, can I buy one at Gatwick airport and get the deposit refund (or any money left on the card) there as well?

I'm going to London with my family for a few days on a stopover. We will have our luggage with us but want to store it. Last time I was there (3 months ago) I stored it at the airport but it was $50 a day. Does anyone know of a better, more economical way? BTW, we're a family with 3 younger children and staying in the city and don't want to transport our luggage with us, since we'll be flying out out after just three days there.

On the 14th of June, I will be flying from Heathrow to America. I need to travel from Newcastle to Heathrow, however, easyjet only do a flight to standstead for £24.99 with tax included. BA costs £50 from Newcastle to Heathrow so would prefer easy jet if possible. How far away from Heathrow is stanstead? What are the cheapest means of travelling between the 2 and are these easy forms of transport? How much would a taxi cost from stantead to heathrow and how long would it take. Thanks

Why did this happen to me?
When I was in the UK, I did experience culture shock to a certain extent because everything is so different over there. Stores, streets, money, automobiles, English, etc...

But when I was in Dubai, my shock level went back to normal. It felt like America.

Why's that? Why is London so much different than America but Dubai isn't? Is Dubai an American creation?

I used to live in Watford a number of years ago and I remember being able to buy a ticket which allowed me to travel with the normal train service into central London and then travel on the underground for the day.

I think the Zones etc may have changed now as I cannot find any information on such a ticket, does anyone live in Watford and know if it is still possible to buy such a ticket and if so what it costs. I can't call the enquiry line as I live outside the UK at the moment so any help would be great.

Thanks

Hi,
I'm French, I've just turned 18 and I'd like to find a summer job in London for this summer.
i've been twice to the US and about 8 times in England; all my trips were fairly short (except 1 month and a half in Philadelphia)
and my English is not bad, at least as good to be able to understand everything and to be understood without any
trouble.
During my trip in Philadelphia, I worked in a summer-camp and it was great to work with kids.
I come to London from june,28 to july,30 and everyone told me most of the jobs available in summer are in restaurants
and pubs. I'd like to work in as well, but do you know whether there are other job-offers?
Thank you for you answers
