Hi,
I'm French, I've just turned 18 and I'd like to find a summer job in London for this summer.
i've been twice to the US and about 8 times in England; all my trips were fairly short (except 1 month and a half in Philadelphia)
and my English is not bad, at least as good to be able to understand everything and to be understood without any
trouble.
During my trip in Philadelphia, I worked in a summer-camp and it was great to work with kids.
I come to London from june,28 to july,30 and everyone told me most of the jobs available in summer are in restaurants
and pubs. I'd like to work in as well, but do you know whether there are other job-offers?
Thank you for you answers

It is always possible to find a job in London. There are plenty of temp. agencies who should be able to find you something.

Staying in London is expensive but there are lots of student hotels around which are very basic - though noisy but if you're only 18, you could well meet lots of young people doing the same thing as you. Try looking up student hotels in London on the net and see what comes up.

Good luck - go for it!

Your English is better than most English users on here. Mind you, given the state of the education system in this country that's hardly surprising.
If you're only coming over for five weeks, I'd be tempted to get a part-time job in France, save your money up and then come over for a holiday. Why waste your visit working?
Good luck anyway and enjoy your visit.

Your English is amazing! Je parle francais et je connais beaucoup de francais mais le tien est le meilleur! (was that right?) Yes for just a month it's mainly bar work and waiting, but also try Next as they take on lots of extra people for their big sale every July and they will be looking around the date you get here. Good luck! I would offer for you to contact me, but I will be in Beijing for 6 weeks during when you're in London so it won't be poss. Have a great time.

Everything depends on how lucky you are, and I've heard that sometimes people work in unbearable conditions. Searching- that's all.
