My brother-in-law owns a taxi company in Reading. Call him on +44 118 9500 501 for a quote. Probably your best bet though is to get the Rail-Link coach which will take you from the airport direct to Reading train station in the town centre. It will be much cheaper and quicker as there is a bus lane on the motorway and you will not get stuck in traffic.

I just had a look at my old expenses since I did this taxi ride last year.
Cost me £25 from Heathrow to the Reading football ground.
That should give you an idea, but I'd go with the previous answers : call any taxi firm and ask for a quote.

Do not take a black cab from heathrow or arrange a cab from a 'hawker' at heathrow. go to yahoo.co.uk and search for "Reading Taxi" and use a taxi service, in the south of england most taxi services (private hire taxi is like a limo service) have a flat fee for airport pick up / drop off and its probably going to be a quarter of the price a black cab will charge. (black cabs are fine for an in and around greater london short journey anything else will cost a fortune.) also there are train and bus services from heathrow to reading. the bus terminus is at the center of the eathrow terminals. go to baa..com website for information on heathrow travel to and from.

My friend is a taxi controller, I think I've heard her say Heathrow to Reading is about £50, but the best thing is to call a taxi company and get a quote.

If you are on a budget, ask any BAA worker where the central bus station is or follow the posted signs, jump on the public 285 bus to feltham train station. jump on the train to reading......2 pound bus ticket and maybe 3-8 pounds train ticket.
Taxis will cost you a sweet fortune definitly more than 25 pounds!!

It depends on the lenght of the journey that is how many miles.
Black cabs from Heathrow will always cost more.
I would guess in the region of £50.00.
But you can always call the Black cabbies and ask them.

I love questions like this.
It would be so much quicker, and more accurate, just to phone a cab company. Perfectly accurate answer in what ? 15 seconds.
about £50
