I am leaving GB on Friday and need to know if I will be able to exchange when I get back for a good rate at the US post office or should I just get it done at the airport. Which will be the better rate?

I'm leaving to Russia in 2 days & while reading tips on what to take on carry-on, people are saying that theyre taking hair straighteners & curlers & cellphone chargers, but why? Why would you need those things on the plane if you could just keep them in your checked luggage?

I plan on taking my own pillow, blanket, a deck of cards, ipod, a few books, a few magazines, my camera, chapstick, some food & candy & gum, painkillers, & my glasses/case & contact case/eyedrops/cleaning solution.

Is this enough? Is it alright? It seems like I dont need to take so much- just things to entertain me. Sorry if the question seems stupid, but i was just confused why people were taking things such as hair curlers & tweezers & mosquito repellent on the plane if they obviously dont need it there-if they could just keep it in their luggage.

thanks; ill pick a best answer.

I've overspent and now can't afford to send off for my passport until 21st next month. Is there any way of getting it quicker when I do eventually send off for it? I hear that the postoffice do a quick service for a little extra cost.
Thanks

I am going to Punta Cana in October. This is my first time out of the USA and I am a little nervous.. I have read where you shouldnt bring very much and others say it is better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. I am the type that pack half my wardrobe to go away for a weekend. I would do the same here, but there are limits on the weight of the suitcases and how many you can bring without paying a huge amount extra. So anyone with any help on what is the most improtant and what is ok to leave would be great.. Thank you..

I'm flying from Baltimore to Manchester and I was wondering what is the weight/size limit for the bags/luggages? Also, how much would they charge if i went over the limit?

I have one big luggage, a medium-small luggage, a jansport backpack and a sports bag. I'm worried mostly about the sports bag because it takes up so much space in my luggage, I want to stuff it with clothes and carry it inside along with my medium-small luggage and backpack. Would they allow this?
