I'm flying from Baltimore to Manchester and I was wondering what is the weight/size limit for the bags/luggages? Also, how much would they charge if i went over the limit?

I have one big luggage, a medium-small luggage, a jansport backpack and a sports bag. I'm worried mostly about the sports bag because it takes up so much space in my luggage, I want to stuff it with clothes and carry it inside along with my medium-small luggage and backpack. Would they allow this?

Varies by airline. Please keep in mind that you should verify with the specific airline you are using for carry-on sizes and rules. You can also find this information on the inside flap of your ticket booklet. This example from NWA should help.

Carry-on Allowance
Be sure to check new requirements from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regarding restrictions to items in carry-on luggage. Visit www.tsa.gov for details.

Northwest allows you to carry one piece of luggage on board the aircraft plus a purse or briefcase or laptop computer or small backpack. The carry-on luggage must be of a size and shape to allow for storage in overhead compartments or underneath the seat in front of you.

Dimensions:

Cannot exceed 45 linear inches (9 inches by 14 inches by 22 inches)
Note: Luggage not meeting these specifications must be checked and is subject to any applicable fees.

There is a list of the more popular airlines carry-on luggage restriction at http://www.luggageman.com/website/buying/carry-on.html. Again, these are subject to change at any time and are not guaranteed so please verify with the specific airline you are using for carry-on sizes and rules.

you will, no doubt, be flying a regional jet to your destination. Check with the airline you're flying...rules about checked and carry-on baggage limitations vary from company to company. I can tell you, that you're bringing too much to avoid excess baggage charges, so be prepared for that. Be aware of the weight of each bag as well. Bags weighing in over the airline's baggage weight limitations are subject to excess charges as well.
Keep in mind that space inside the cabin is limited. If you aren't flying a regional jet, you'll have a better chance of carrying more on. But even then...you can't fit a square peg into a round hole...so don't expect to pack your entire life into one suitcase and expect to carry it on, much less, fit it into an overhead bin. Remember...if it has wheels and you can pull it, that doesn't mean it's a carry on size bag!
My suggestion?? Just check it all except the backpack. Put meds and keys and money/valuables/wallet/computer...the things you'll need for the flight in your backpack With all the hastles at the security checkpoints with liquids, shoes, computers, etc. it'd be worth it to just check the luggage, and be free of it until you reach your destination.

No. You are allowed one carry-on bag (that must be smaller than 21 inches) and one personal item (purse, laptop, etc.) Everything else must be checked.
