i'm going out of the country to el salvador and i know that the liquids or gels can olny be in a 3oz. container is it better that instead of taking it in my handbag(because they are going to check it) i take it in my checked baggage not the one i'm holding in my seat which is better?

Yes, put it in your checked baggage. If it's in your checked baggage, it doesn't have to be 3oz. That might save you a lot of time if you have products to transfer from their original containers into smaller ones.
