I am leaving GB on Friday and need to know if I will be able to exchange when I get back for a good rate at the US post office or should I just get it done at the airport. Which will be the better rate?

The USPS doesn't do currency exchanges, I'm pretty sure. In the US, that's done by banks, at fixed exchange rates, usually with a service fee.

I am in the U.S., and the post offices here do not do currency exchanges. Neither does the airport. If you don't do it before you get here, you will have to do it a bank, but I don't know which would be better (US banks charge fees, but I don't know what they are in comparison to the deal you could get there in the UK). I can tell you that you small bank branches will give you a hassle about it because they are not familiar with it. If you are coming into a major city, do it at a large bank in that city. An airport employee should be able to direct you to the closest place.

Most post offices do not do currency exchange. Just change them at the airport.

When you get home, deposit the BP in your bank account. Your money will be converted at a rate better than you'll get at the UK airport. Hope that helps!

you are better off exchanging before you leave. the usps doesn't exchange money and banks in the united states are going to charge you big bucks to exchange it here because its the only way you are going to get it exchanged here.
