Did anything happen when you went to Mexico? I am afraid to go travel there because I hear stories that the police stop you and tell lies to try and make you give them money, is this common? would you travel with a family there and feel safe?

I'm going to Arizona in October, my friend and I want to take a day trip to Mexico, since neither of us have been to Mexico via a land border, I don't know what place to cross @. We are going to park on the US side and walk across. We are going mainly to do a little shopping. Which crossings do you suggest? I've considered Nogales or Lukeville, but it looks like Lukeville would require a car to get to the shopping. thanks for any info!

When purchasing a timeshare is the ownwership transfered and then I would be able to use the timeshare year after year? Or is it just sold for the year? My other question is that it my understanding that people have say a timeshare for Baja Mexico in december but are able to use there timeshare to go on vacation in the bajamas or somewhere else. The U.S. State dept. issued another travel warning for Mexico on the 15th. I definetley do not buy into what they always say... However, I was surprised that they added the state of Michoacan to the danger list. Do you think Mexico is safe? Where do you think is the most dangerous part?

My husband and I are finally going to take a belated honeymoon. We've never been to Mexico before but really want to go. We just can't decide where to visit and what hotel to stay at. We enjoy water sports, shopping, historical-cultural activities, horseback riding, and lazing about the beach. Any thoughts? We want to go sometime before next June. We'd like to go in November, but I'm not sure that we can save up enough spending $ before then...maybe in the new year?
