i've only been on one, but from that experience, i'd say that it was great, but way too crowded. i pretty much avoided the pools the entire trip because just to get near them it was necessary to fight for space. you can, however, just go hang out in your room for a while if the crowds start getting to you. (i would highly recommend a room with a balcony) the food is just amazing! the service is great. and the stops can be a load of fun. (be prepared to spend a lot of $ on your stops if you want to participate in any special activities. for many activities, though, u can just go ashore and get a taxi to take u to special places for quite a bit less money than what they will charge you on the ship if you sign up in advance. when thinking about paying for something think about weather or not it's the type of thing that requires reservations or is the type of thing that u can just show up at.)
they were trying to take pictures of people all the time and then trying to sell us the pics. i found that to be extremely annoying and i did my best to avoid them, but they are very good at making sure that u can't avoid them.
overall, i think it was a wonderful trip that i would love to do again one day.

I am going on the Carnival Conquest in October. I have cruised 3 other times. Just do your research. Find out if you can bring wine onboard. If you like wine, this will save you money on drinks. Another thing that will save on drinks is usually you can buy a bottle of liquor onboard. They charge extra for you to be able to take it right then, since they usually deliver it to your stateroom at the end of the cruise. But you can buy a soda card and make your own mixed drinks.
This is the main thing you need to be aware of when going on a cruise. Watch your stateroom account. It can quickly and easily get above 1,000 dollars during a weeklong cruise. Your stateroom key acts like a charge card for the week, so it is easy to lose track, and that is what the cruiselines depend on.
Have a great time!

Cruises are AWESOME!! Think about it. You check in, unpack, go to sleep, and wake up in a new place. And there's tons of food, at all hours.
When getting off the boat, be very mindful of when the boat is leaving. If it's time for the boat to leave, it will leave without you.
We've done a couple Caribbean cruises and they are a total blast. We're just waiting for our daughter to get old enough to take a Disney cruise right now.

We took our first cruise in November 2003 hitting Cayman Islands, Cozumel, and Key West. I loved it. Look into tours, they help, but don't take too many; leave some time for yourselves.
There were tons of activities and being all inclusive was great. You can really relax.
Enjoy!

Think of a cruise as a 5 star hotel that takes you somewhere.
