Anywhere on the Baja other than Cabo is inexpensive. All the little towns have cheap places to stay and the food is great and inexpensive. Every town in the baja has something of interest to see....i.e. whales, salt lakes, missions, art galleries, caves with paintings, etc.

Just across the Border at San Ysidro (USA) you will find Rosarito Beach and motoring on South to Ensenada. Skip Tijuana unless you like New York espanol, too busy. Good beaches, restaurants and lots of shopping opportunities. The old Rosarito Beach Hotel is worth a stop for Coco Locos and a nice viewing pier that extends far out into the Pacific Ocean. The days of cheap Margaritas is over, but most places are reasonably priced. Bien Viaje

Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa, Mexico in the coastal region fronting the Pacific Ocean known as La Costa Grande of the state of Guerrero and includes the nearby communities of Troncones and Barra de PotosÃ. The web site below has e-mail addresses for local hotels, inns, bed & breakfasts, houses and condominiums for rent as well as restaurants, bars, guided tours, diving, surfing, and sport fishing charters. Prices down there are great and the atmosphere is so relaxed and wonderful.

Going down the coast of the Pacific side of Mexico is the Baja North and when you get through Guerros ****** it is Baja Sur{south} The next town is San Ignacio which is affordable{look around} and if you go Febuary -March it is good to go whale watching. San Ignacio also has an OLD MIssion. Stay at Jaunitas place .I guarantee you will like her quaint quarters. Across from the mission, is whale tour, and same side is Jaunitas. I stayed for $35 a night it slept 3 ,with fridge, stove, clean ,and secure parking. American lady from SAN Fransisco. I want to go again!
