My husband and I are finally going to take a belated honeymoon. We've never been to Mexico before but really want to go. We just can't decide where to visit and what hotel to stay at. We enjoy water sports, shopping, historical-cultural activities, horseback riding, and lazing about the beach. Any thoughts? We want to go sometime before next June. We'd like to go in November, but I'm not sure that we can save up enough spending $ before then...maybe in the new year?

Puerto Vallarta because the old part of the city is very romantic. I bought my brother and his bride an all-inclusive trip there for their honeymoon. The whole trip cost about $2000 including flight(from Vancouver), and that’s at a 4 star hotel.

The best for you would be Cancun and Riviera Maya area, at Quintana Roo State.

If you combine both destinations, you will have all for a great honeymoon: Cancun is cool site to stay with all the facilities at the hotel zona and the city, water sports, dance clubs; while you can have contact with the nature and native Mexican customs, arquelogical sites and more at Riviera Maya. Also, you can visit the islands of Isla Mujeres and Cozumel for more water activities, all them located near from Cancun.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at an all-inclusive resort just south of Cancun. We had a GREAT time!!! We got a package deal that included air fare, transportation to and from the airport, our stay at the resort, all our meals at the resort, and all our beverages (certain alcoholic beverages you have to pay for). Check out the website below. We stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo, and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone, but it cost us about $2,500.00 U.S. for the package and there are a whole bunch of all-inclusive resorts down there that are less expensive. Good hunting!

I would recommend Cancun. We stayed at Marina El Cid in puerto Morelos which is 20 minutes from Cancun. Anywhere in the riviera maya would be good.

you should go to Rivera Maya or Cozumel... both are close to the best area for fun or for relaxing like Xel-ha, isla Mujeres or Cancun to have some fun or romantic dinner some other night....
