I have always wanted to take a trip to Italy, but I'm not quite sure where to go. I am an intermediate photographer and I want to go somewhere with great architecture and great natural scenery. Any advice on where I should visit or where I should stay?

I have one day to spend in Venice and upon arrival, from the train station would like to immediately start with my tour. Actually I only have one major stop in mind and to spend the whole day there. That would be the San Marco.

Ive heard that taking the water taxis is an expensive option, as I am used to walking and know that the distance from the train station to San Marco is rather short, I would prefer to walk, but looking at Google earth, I cant find a continous route to San Marco.

Are water taxis really expensive? how do I get one and how much does it cost? what are my other alternatives? I have to be back at the train station in the evening to catch a train to Milan... Please help me....

lets be open minded here. i am trying to understand how liberals think. i have been into politics for a while. and im now seeing some things in liberal ideology. everyday it seems more and more like a mental illness. this idea was first brought on by Michael Savage, who i will say is borderline insane. but he does have me thinking, is liberalism a mental illness? if liberals were running things, we would have illegals in the country that would drain our tax payer dollars and social programs, have programs into place that the country can't afford(universal healthcare), and we would pull out of Iraq and let thousands of people get slaughtered and leave a safe haven for terrorism. can anyone shed some light on this? it might be because im conservative that i feel this way, but im trying to see how liberals think. right now im considering liberalsim being a mental illness.

I'm thirteen years old, and in four years, I'm going to Italy as an exchange student! For one whole year. After that, I'll come back to the United States and get a decent degree in the college that I go to, and then go back and live in Italy for the rest of my life! I personally think that this sounds pretty decent to me. What do you think?

drinking coffee, reading books, scanning architectures, and just living a few days like a real Italian? I don't much like Rome, even if I've never been there, because it's got a huge mob of tourists. I like unknown and friendly places.

I was wondering if anyone here has any good hotels for me to look into staying at in San Valentino Italy? San Valentino is located in the Abruzzi sector of Italy, on the mid-east coast.

Thanks for the help. :)

I'm going on a trip to Italy soon, and wish to know of a good computers store (bigger - the better) in Rome and Venice. I'm planning on buying Playstation 3/Xbox 360 Elite in there, since it's 500$ cheaper there.
Stores next to touristic locations are preferred, since it would be much easier to locate.

Thank you!

I have heard many atheists say that there is no proof of God. Then they say that there is no way to disprove that there is a God. How then can a person say with absolute certainty the there is no God? How can any assertion be logically sound without proof to back it up, especially from folks who say they require proof yet then admit they have no proof? Is not the universe itself proof enough? In what other context do you assume that there is an effect without cause?

I am taking a meditterenean cruise in October - one of our ports is Livorno. I would like to take a day trip from Livorno to Pisa and Lucca, spending most of the time in Lucca. Any ideas about how to book the train? or bus? Should I do that before I leave the states or just do it on that day at the station? Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

Me and my girlfriend are considering going to Capri from Sorrento for a few days... never been, but I'm a little unsure of how we get to our hotel in the Capri. I don't speak italian, but keep hearing about the Funicular.. is this a raliway? chairlift?
Do people speak english?
At arrival from the boat from Sorrento where do I go? I hear I have to get a porter to carry my luggage - where do I find them?
Then where do I go to get some transport to the hotel? Where do I buy a ticket?
Is it a lot easier than it sounds? I'm used to just grabbing a taxi lol!
Any tips from other first timers??
