We are landing in Amsterdam and would like to go to Paris, Geneva, Florence and maybe Venice and Rome and then fly back to Amsterdam to depart Europe. We have 2 weeks after we land. Any suggestions or recommendations? We don't know if it would be better to drive or get a Eurail pass. We hear conflicting reports. We would love to relax and drive but not sure how easy it would be with road signs marking the way. Also, is the Eurail pass cheaper to buy now for a September trip? We just want to plan ahead...

Hey, I'm currently in London and I'm traveling to Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, and then Ibiza in about 2 weeks. I need to know what is the best youth hostel to stay at in each city. Do I need to book in advance or will I be able to just go there and get a bed? What techno/rave type clubs are hot in those places right now? Also where can I get some green in London??

okay, so i plan on visiting berlin, germany next month or so. I have read that the drinking age is supposedly 16. Well, I am 17. So if I were to go to a bar in germany, without my parent, could I order a beer, or a shot of liquor or something provided that I show my ID? And would they accept my passport as a legal form of ID? All I have for ID is my passport and my state of virginia ID.

My fiance and I just got engaged yesterday and are looking for places to take a romantic, but fun honeymoon. We've never traveled to this area and are looking for some tips. We love everything from beach-lounging to sight-seeing/historic areas to outdoors/adventure activities. Any suggestions?

I've got a 5 months languages scholarship in Porto, Portugal (Oct-Febr). The problem is, I don't exactly like the way Portuguese sounds (though Romanian is a Romanic language too, and I'm supposed to learn Portuguese easily), and I'm wondering...is it worth the effort? How Portuguese people, environment and likestyle are like?

I'm planning a trip in 2009 with some friends. I'd like to know if anyone knows how much it would cost to tour both countries.

5 of us total, plus the airfare.

Thanks.

I will be going to Europe in July. I do not need a Eurail pass since I will not travel by train a lot. But I do need to travel by train on 2 journeys. First one is from Paris to Lucerne, second one is from Lucerne to Milan. And I have a few questions about this.

1) Where can I buy the tickets for those 2 legs? Do I have to buy it on the web or can I buy it at the station?

2) I have checked on web that both journeys require reservation. Since I am not using Eurail pass, after I have bought the tickets at the station, do I still need to make reservation?

3) Normally in July, how many days in advance do I have to make the reservation?

4) if I am in hurry, can I buy the tickets on the train?

Infact I was going through the different passes and the rates. I am seriously confused. Infact the reason of the confusion can be the fixed pass rate of the railway system that I am being habituated with in my country . I know there can't be a simple reply to this. As in a flexi fare things are always dependent on time. But If I have to travel during mid october,2007,on an aggregate how much do I have to shell out? Thanks a lot in antiicipation.Warm Regards

Staying one night in Rome for connecting flight.
I wanted to book hotel by airport but it seems they are bit pricey. I was reading previous suggestions to book a hotel by train station and take a train to/from airport.
Any suggestions...which hotel to book? What can I visit in 1 afternoon?
I was thinking it would be nice to see St. Peter's square.
