Paris
I lived in Barcelona for a year. It's nice to visit, but rather bigger than you'd expect. If you are the type who'd like Los Angeles better than New york, pick Barce.
If you like New York and San Fran. better than L.A., go to Paris. Barcelona is sleazier, or at least it was when i lived there, especially at night around the Ramblas. You had to say No a thousand times.
I found Paris friendlier, unlike most people. I don't know why. Maybe it's me. Barcelonans are nice and helpful, but I always had more magic and romance in Paris.
Paris is more expensive. The area surrounding Barcelona is more interesting because you can go to Sitges, Costa Brava beaches, get up to Southwest France easily, too. Around Paris there are palaces and chateaux but that's not my cup of tea. I like nightlife and Paris wins hands down, though Barcelona parties harder and later.
Barcelona starts too late for me and wasn't as hip and fun as Paris. Discos in barcelona don't really get going til after 2 a.m. I like to be able to go out and start dancing before 11 and get cozy by 3.

well Barcelona is nice.....I love Paris too....hmmmm Most people are saying Barcelona and it seemed like a good place to hang out ( but I went there in the winter...and still a good place to travel)...it might be a bit hotter than Paris, so maybe temperature may be a factor in choosing...Paris is so beautiful and there is so much to see and do...I would personall perfer paris, but I can see why people chose Barcelona.

Barcelona is becoming one of the first tourist destination of Spain since it understands how to please the huge majority : with a record one of the oldest in Europe, an area that never rests and an inland filled with elegance, unforgettable wonderful beaches in La Costa Brava and you can see all of this if you have a look with hotelbye first. All of the creative secrets, the Romanesque churches and the truly amazing titles in modern art and structure like: Dali, Gaudi, Miro and Picasso provide Barcelona an area in the set of towns you have to see.

I WENT ON EURO TRIP LAST SUMMER TO BOTH PLACES. YOU CANT COMPARE BECAUSE BOTH PLACES ARE WONDERFUL. DEPENDS ON WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR, FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU LOOKING FOR SHOPING GO TO BARCELONA ITS REALLY CHEAP, THEY HAVE 7% OR 8% TAX ON STUFF AT Les Rambles. ALSO, IF YOU WANT TO PARTY GO TO BARCELONA, BUT THE CLUBS START AFTER 12 MIDNIGHT. DON'T GO EARLY. BARCELONA IS A GOOD PLACE TO GO FOR SIGHT SEEING BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SIGHT SEEING AND HISTORY GO TO PARIS.

Barcelona is smaller, cheaper, more artistic, and pretty cool . Parisians are mean and don't bathe :))
I personally love Andalusia region better, I was a Moroccan man magnet.
