We are landing in Amsterdam and would like to go to Paris, Geneva, Florence and maybe Venice and Rome and then fly back to Amsterdam to depart Europe. We have 2 weeks after we land. Any suggestions or recommendations? We don't know if it would be better to drive or get a Eurail pass. We hear conflicting reports. We would love to relax and drive but not sure how easy it would be with road signs marking the way. Also, is the Eurail pass cheaper to buy now for a September trip? We just want to plan ahead...

if you want a more relaxing trip and get a bigger taste of the people, go for the train.
With two traveling together you can get a selectpass/saverpass, get a 4- country pass (Benelux, France, Switz, and Italy) for however many days you need. Italy is where a rent a car might be more useful, like if you want to drive around the Amalfi coast. A car would be a hassle in Amsterdam, Rome, and Paris. It would slow you down, and you'd have to deal with parking and traffic. You could take trains and rent mopeds or bikes if you want to explore the countryside. Gasoline is very expensive, adn so are rent acars, but if you must, look on Expedia.com for rent a cars, and look on raileurope.com for railpasses. They used to have Rail/drive passes, but I'm not sure they still do.

in case you have a minimum of a month to try this this is probable ok in spite of the certainty that your path seems to be slightly everywhere. Amsterdam to Munich is going to be a stable 7-8 hours rigidity, then Munich to Venice - as long as you're no longer combating everywhere in between (And if no longer, why?) is probable 17 hours. My advice - rather in case you have have been given decrease than a month - may be to %. the two Amsterdam/Munich/Paris OR the Italian cluster, yet no longer the two. additionally there are all kinds of exciting places in between those cities which you may desire to to be sure. Like why no longer see places in Belgium and Austria quite than in simple terms passing with the aid of one finished united states of america to get to a city in yet another one? The French nation-state is acceptable with all kinds of castles and villages to locate. Paris is as representative of France as NYC is representative of the finished united states. come across some places off the overwhelmed course! P.S. WHOOOPS! I in simple terms re-study your question and found out which you stated 2 weeks!! All due admire, yet that itinerary is punctiliously loopy for 2 weeks! you will spend all it sluggish using! properly, I now draw a line below my advice to choose on one cluster or the different. maybe get out a map and plot out some days in Amsterdam, then Antwerp, then Paris, then an expedition interior the direction of the French nation-state then artwork your way as much as Munich in case you experience forced, yet even this is packing in plenty. Cheers!
