hi there...coming from the UK on a Mini Cruise to Amsterdam...we sail from Newcastle...and basically two nights on board the Ferry...then 5/6 hours (weather permitting) in Amsterdam itself..!!
I have done this before but with an ex girlfriend, and we did all the adult things, that Amsterdam has to offer....but obviously with an 8 yr old it will have to be different...

Can anybody help/guide me as to what i could do..??

I have heard the zoo is good..but with limited time, dont want to waste any time...
what about department stores that have some good toy departments..??
Any soft play areas..??
Never did a cruise along the canals..?? so maybe might do one of them...can anybody recommend a good company..?? or shall i just head for the tourist info place..??

Thanks

Michael

I have a 7 hour layover in Amsterdam and was wondering if this is enough time to get out of the airport to see some things and get back in time for my next flight. I will be arriving a little before 6:00 am and my next flight departs at 1:00 pm. I'm mostly interested in the Anne Frank museum and the Van Gogh museum. Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm taking a 2 week trip to Europe over the holidays at the end of this year and will be spending a week (including New Years) in The Netherlands.

The main trip is to Amsterdam. I have already booked the flight but have not yet booked any hotels. I would also like to see Rotterdam and the Hague. Should I book a few nights in another city besides Amsterdam or should I book all nights in Amsterdam and just take day trips to these other places?

Also, what are some other fun things to do and see in Amsterdam? (And I'm not talking about drugs and prostitutes.)

I am traveling to Holland very soon, and I was wondering if anyone knew what is kind of the average pricing of food there. Like is it more expensive than our food here. And I don't mean like fancy resturant foods, i mean like kind of fast food or just a cafe. i know this is an extremely weird question, because food could cost a lot or a little, but i was just wondering if anyone had a range of pricings. or how much money for food I should bring with me for 10 days.(About one or two meals a day)

I\'m 23 right now and currently living in the United States. This Fall I plan to be studying at conservatoire at the Hague in the Netherlands. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find information about f rooms or apartments in the Hague? I\'m going by myself and would prefer a single room, but I could share a room as long as I am able to maintain my own privacy and that I don\'t get distracted by my tenent talking on the phone or playing music. I plan to be moving around late August (and so I would like something available by September 1st and a room that is at most 6 months min.). I would like a place that is under 500 euros a month. Since classes start near the beginning of September. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find a place to stay in the Netherlands?

I would like to thank those who were able to answer from my previous post. I did find some of the sites to be helpful.
