I'm hoping to get from California to France and back this summer for considerably less than the $1000 commercial airlines want. Any combination of bus/train to anywhere in North America, then boat/fly, then do something from whatever the European port might be to get to my final destination in southwest France, is great. Any ideas?

I am a 19 year old student, to whatever extent anyone knows that might affect costs.

What's your favourite Temel story? (Türkçe cevap kabul edilir) ;-)

I know this category isn't very suitable for this question, but you know I can't ask it to the Jokes&Riddles ;-) And I'm very curious about this question's answers :-)

Can anyone please help me out with this? My fiance and I are taking a trip to Amsterdam from November 16 - 23, 2006. I have heard some hints about what the weather might be like (between 40º - 60º during the day; sometimes freezing at night; possibility of wind & rain; but all-around, the weather is more enjoyable than london year-round, or so someone said to me).

What kind of clothing should we take? Since we are from a warm humid Gulf Coast city (Houston, TX), we don't get much weather like Amsterdam does. Would a t-shirt under a winter coat do well, or would my arms still be freezing? Is the cold extremely "biting" at this time of year, or particularly strong?

Any & all tips, clothing suggestions, outfit ideas, etc., that can be given, are welcome!!! Thank you!!!

I know that there are so many things to see and do in Rome that it is immeasurable.... but if I had only one day to explore Rome, what would you say are places or things that I must see or do, besides the obvious Trevi Fountain, Vatican City, Pantheon, The Roman Forum, Borghese Gardens, etc, etc.
Give me something that not many people know about or something that you deem as something that has to be seen or experienced.
I welcome anything from answers to my question to tips and advice about my visit to Rome from anyone and everyone!

And, for you world travelers out there.... feel free to leave me all the tips, stories, and advice you can write! This is for my first trip to Rome and I have wanted to go since before I can even remember. So, I appreciate all of your responses.
Oh, and I am a young girl, 20, so any tips on safety would be great too.

Thanks and I can't wait to hear all of your responses! : D

This is mainly a question for women in Turkey..Men can answer too.I'm doing this term paper on Turkey. I came upon a couple of fashion sites that were in Istanbul but it really doesn't tell me whether or not if thats what women wear in public or if thats what there allowed to wear under the hijab or burka. I was wondering because most of the clothes seemed westernized and I didn't want to assume that you were allowed to wear anything in public and receive an F for just stating assumptions instead of facts.. So if you can just either tell me what you wear on a daily basis in public or what a typical woman in Turkey wears on a daily basis I would greatly appreciate it.
