i won a $1000. travel gift certificate and me and my bf want to go somewhere tropical (caribbean or even key west would be ok) and be around that $1000. any advice or suggestions for nice but affordable hotels? much appreciated

What is the best Caribbean beach based on the brilliant color of the water and whiteness and softness of the sand, and the atmosphere and scenery. Which beaches/islands have nice waves, and which ones are just like bath water?

Also, in Jamaica, is Negril that much better than Ocho Rio's beaches?
