Wow, how fun! I've heard that Sandals is an excellent all inclusive Resort Program. Although, I'm sure it will cost you a bit more than $1,000. Anywhere in Florida would be nice! Even Disneyworld would be fun! You could go there for a few days and then drive down to the keys. Or to save a little money but still feel like you're in the tropics, drive 2 hours south of Orlando to Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota (gulf side by Tampa)! It has soft baby powder white sand, blue clear water and calypso music plays in the cabbana area. They have great hotels nearby and its very quiet and romantic... but they have beach parties at night sometimes.

Have fun!

I have lots of ideas but $1000 dollars is not going to get the both of you very far. Sandals is awesome and Jamaica, V.I or Bahamas is a great place but i don't know really how far that type of money will get you, we are going to Sandals in Jamaica for 9 days with a nice up scale room for just under $4000. i also just check the same resort Oct 6 for three days and with air and the all-inclusive package from Michigan it was $1750 for two. well good luck, i would either save up it will be worth it or just go Tampa or Orlando for a few days, also try Daytona Beach we went last summer it was very nice, don't have to worry about the teenagers all over the place.

Sue, I have a friend who lives in Key West. He says it can be a lot of fun, but the darn place is expensive. Try one of the less well-known Keys, Jamaica, Key Largo... You might also enjoy some of the Pacific Islands. There too, I've acquaintances, and my daughter was stationed there recently whilst in the US Army. She, too, found the main island of Hawaii quite expensive. Check with your local travel agent!
Other opportunities abound in Central and South America. Rio's fun, and so's Acapulco. I'd suggest avoiding the areas along the US/Mexican border frequented by American sailors and GIs - having been one of those, I have to admit we sometimes made ourselves unwelcome, and in groups large enough to ruin the evening for a number of tourists as well as the local constabulary. Hey, we were young and stupid; what can I say? Again, a very good source for planning is your local travel agent. And the more time you have to plan, the more likely you are to be handed a tour package you'll really enjoy.
Good luck, and Hasta la Vista!

I just got back from Costa Rica and I would go back again in a heart beat. There is so much fun things to do there. I traveled to four different locations, all near the beach. Its not too hot there and the ocean, rain forests, volcano, basically the scenery and people are awesome there. I spent 380 dollars on the plane ticket and less than 400 there. It rocked!

Ever heard of St. Kitts? It's in the Caribbean, and although I myself have never gone there, a friend of mine has and said that it's really beautiful. When he went the tickets were $200 or a bit more (I don't know if that was one-way or two), but the cost is fairly inexpensive. I might even go there sometime soon. Hope you end up having fun with your fellah wherever you go! ^_^

well I may not be a professional travel agents, but I can recommend a couple of places not to go.
1st, I heard the weather in iraq is hot with a chance of falling mortors. I think I would avoid there all together.
Second would be afghanistan, the food sucks, and the smog this time a year is a killer

grand caymens all the way they took my breath away! congrats on the win! they have the most amazing beaches! if you think those crystal clear picture perfect beaches dont exist , well they do hear! the hyatt on 7mile beach is a bit pricey but looks like it just came out of a magazine!
try a royal caribbean cruise, i went on the explorer and it is the most pampering experience ever! my ship stopped at three tropical spots -grand caymens, costa maya , and cozumel ,....amazing you dont have to worry about anything becuz its all included food ,shows, shopping, comedy, bars, etc.! and even a rock climbing wall, on the top deck! hope you have a great time!
