Jamaica can be done for $2K. Might also want to consider Cancun or Cozumel. Although alot of people do not consider this part of the carribbean, Cozumel is accually in the Carribbean sea and Cancun faces it. Also might check for good deals on St. Martin during the summer. A fun island with lots of great beaches. The DR, Punta Cana can also be done for under 2K all inclusive. I assume you plan to stay for 5-7 days. If less almost anywhere can be done for 2K.

You could always do a cruise. Many cruise liners will do weddings onboard or set up and do one on a beach at one of your port stops. It would have to be on an island that would let you get married the same day you arrive, such as Grand Cayman. But I think with a cheap room you could do it for under 2k.

With your budget, I would opt for a closer beach location. Depending on where you are, there are many options for a beautiful beach/water area wedding. On the East Coast, there's Virginia Beach, myrtle beach, and many more. West Coast, I really loved San Diego. Then, you could take a trip to the Caribbean once you have more money saved.

Maybe instead of an elopement, get friends and family to donate money so you can pay for things besides the airfare to get there? Have someone lend you a video camera so that you can film it for them? Then you still "run away" to get married, but people get to be a part of it. You'll probably have some nice gifts waiting when you get back.

You should go to the Honduran island of Roatan. It is not as developed as most of the other Caribbean islands, but it is so beautiful. Get married at West Bay (I think that is what the beach is called) and there is a resort closeby (Anthony's, I think) that is really pretty. Seeing as it is not as developed yet, things tend to be a bit cheaper there.

That ought to do it. I got married in Jamaica. Call a travel agency and get the best hotel and air fare you can. You have to send a bunch of paper work to the island ahead of time, and you have to be there for 48 hrs before you can get married.

Save the $2000 for remedial grammar classes... what am I saying, any higher education!

If you have any credits for college courses, ask for your money back.

If you still "want to get eloped" try Cuba, I hear it's cheap - just not legal for most US citizens.

Good luck!
