We are staying at the Travelodge in Richmond BC and getting the ferry to Victoria the next day. Option 1-Take the shuttle back to the airport, then the Pacific Coach Lines to the ferry. Total cost is $75.75 for 2 adults and kid, but the travel time is so long this way. Second option, take a taxi from the hotel to the ferry but someone said it would be over $100 cab fare! Is this true?

I heard they changed the regulations so now you "may need a passport" to get into Canada. "May?" Has anyone crossed the border very recently? Did they demand a passport?

My spouse got a DUI about 9 years ago, he has heard that if he goes to Canada, and they find out his record, he will be arrested unless it is at least 10 years after the infraction. BTW it was not a felony DUI...
