I'm Canadian.

I sent mine in 8 weeks ago today. They said by mail they take 9 weeks to process including the delay, so I am hoping it arrives sometime soon. I see they now say it can take up to 10 weeks on their website.

They are super backed up right now. I sent my passport in the first week of January, and I just got it back March 19. I think that they are having like a 45 day delay. But if you go to their site www. ppt.ca, it will let you know how far they are behind. I do suggest filling out your passport info online, and then going to stand in line at a passport office. You don't actually have to stand in line that long if you do it online. You get moved ahead, as I think they only have to scan part of the application that you have to print out after your done and bring with you.

Things are so backed up, with the US requiring passports to fly, that it takes 2-3 months now, and is getting worse.

i live in NH (USA) and it took me 8 weeks, when i got it i was a minor... idk if this made the process faster or slower... sorry idk about Canada but i would think they are similar becasue, here they do extensive back ground checks on you and, where i was a minor, on BOTH of my parents. Good luck :-)
