I will be driving up to Kuantan from Spore over the weekend. Was wondering how was the flood situation in Malaysia? Is it advisable to go by this route -> JB -- kota tinggi -- rompin -- pekan -- kuantan? OR safer to go by 2nd link -- ayer hitam -- keluang -- mersing -- rompin -- pekan -- kuantan. Anyone can advise pls?

Am not a travelling agency. Just offering help providing information to people travelling in Malaysia or planning to visit here. Cheap airport transfer, public transport, local weather, shopping spots, currency, safety tips, local price, etc etc. Just holler. I'm bored. nella_boink@yahoo.com

i wrote this comment in a question spot kasi there si no other way once an answer has been chosen but i think this one bears more scrutiny. i aplaud the answers about the differences in culture and about the pimps that drive this irritating behavior but it only helps explain not solve the problem. there are actually two problems as i see it:
1. the beggers, basically hungry kids who know no better, need to be helped in some systematic way by the government, or a charity. to get food daily and a roof over thier heads, and some education in manners and fitting into a real society or theyll remein beggers for all of thire short lives, plain and simple.
2. there are the pimps who exploit the kids and coach and force them to become very irritating to make money for the pimp and still have no better life for the kids. they are commiting a crime against the poor kids whos only crime is to need food and a home. jail the pimps, then give the kids real help, not the distructive abuse of pimps

I am going to Tokyo, Tome, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, and Yanagawa. So far, I want to go to Harajuku, Puroland (Sanrio themepark in Tokyo), and... thats about it! Can you tell me some things I should do? (foods to try, places to go, shopping districts, ect.) I don't need to much to do for Nara and Hiroshima, because my school is doing a big planned tour for that, but I need to find some interesting things to ask my homestays to take me to in Tokyo, Yanagawa, and Tome. (Tome is a fairly small town, its in the country, and I doubt you'll find interesting things to do there, hahaha.)
