Blaming the church or the government won't help....corruption is already inrooted and what you need are reforms.
Unite as one people for a common cause. Without that, the church and your politicians will be havig a good time till eternity.
Better I shut off here as I am coming close to a revolution in my thoughts.

The exploiters and pimps of these street children should not only be made to work but all their possessions confiscated and sold off. All monies from the sales should be put into a trust account that is used to feed, clothe and educate these kids and if any official is found to be illegally using this money then the same thing happens to them. I think an appropiate job would be to clean the polluted streets and rivers.
The Government should relax the adoption laws and reduce the cost of adoptions. At the same time each applicant shoud be scrutinised to ensure that the kids aren't leaving one hell hole for another.
A lot of people blame the Government and its corruption for their woes but who puts these corrupt Governments into power? Who pays the corrupt officials? Corruption is corruption there is no difference to an official getting P10,000 or a police officer getting a cigarette to turn a blind eye.
Tequila Mike you have a problem. If you take religion away you take the hope away from these people. You blame The Catholic Church for all the problems and you mentioned a few countries that are supposedly exploited by the Church. Yes the Church does have its problems and its fair share of black sheep but neither China or India are Catholic and their people are certainly exploited. There are different religions throughout Asia and Africa with the majority of the people being exploited. To blame one religion for all the woes is wrong.

I didn't see the original question that prompted your comments, but I do so agree with you! However could an even bigger problem be with governments that are so corrupted that they exploit their people to the extent that families are forced to discar d their children as they get older, because they simply cannot afford to keep them.
I know this is a bit simplistic, but when you have to start somewhere, getting rid of corrupt govts., is the FIRST step, then helping the families of these kids be able to keep and support them, and creating homes of safety for the other street kids without families, where they can grow and learn in safety.
The exploiters and pimps should all be put to work under strict controls, building homes for these kids, and their wages garnisheed to pay for the food, clothing and education, and training for carers, for these kids.
refusal to do so, could mean lengthy jail sentences.

oh my this is a very broad issue..broad in that it is supposed to be viewed in many ways and from many angles. It's unfair to point a finger to just one or two things.
perhaps a more specific question to be addressed could have been whether it is actually a cause or an effect of any of the more significant aspects ( examples are: balancing economy, politics, education, morality, social culture, tolerance...)
This way we don't end up like kids blaming others but mature citizens with more practical sense of approaching the "problem" or issue.

Tequila Mike has the best response here. All you other do-gooders have your heads in the clouds and must be about 15 years old or something. Getting the catholic church or any other religous business out of the governing business would be the single most positive thing that could happen for the good of the people.

You have very good responses especially that of Tequilla Mike, he is right on.
Back to your questions, the pimps for the beggars are associated with the police officers, so I heard during my inquisitions regarding the beggars.
I hope the President or her staff is reading your commentary here and the answers given to you because if they do, this will be known to the president and they may actually do something about the poor children.

The church should be banned! Until people realize they are in control of their own destinies, this problem will get worse. Any hope that the church can give is a false hope, because only these people can help themselves through their actions, and not by putting faith in something that may or may not exist.
The Catholic Church is one of the richest businesses in the world and should acctually be giving money away to poor people to educate them on how to control the population explosion instead of encouraging it!

What is wrong with you stupid people who blame this government for all your problems????????
The problem in this country is the catholic church and it's influence OVER the government! No religion should EVER be permitted to influence politics or duly elected government officials.
But they DO, and they do it in Mexico, Central America, South America, Spain, Portugal and several dozens more where the people are sheep for the cannons of the church coffers.
The reason there is so much poverty and so many beggars, is the over population and constant drain of any brain to other countries prepared to accept people from third world countries.
There are no jobs, there are almost no natural resources (fish/livestock/wood/coal), there is only the extra 2 million people to feed every year due to the stupid rules imposed by an incredibly rich international corporation, which is one of the most successful businesses in the World
The catholic church.
Their organisation has caused more wars, suffering, torture and poverty in the last 500 years than anything else in the history of the World, and it's about time all of you realised that they're keeping you in poverty with their ridiculous claims of life everlasting, flying around in the clouds being bored out of your skulls for eternity.
Get REAL and start living your own lives with the amount of kids you can afford, take the Trust pill, use condoms.
Start with the root of the poverty problem, which is rampant, out-of-control population growth encouraged by an out of date bunch of child molesters!
