1) why do people keep asking this same question over and over? This is probably the fourth time this month. Look up on the internet - it is easier and quicker or else search Yahoo! Answers or better still...... go to school!!

2) The "prior" capital is NOT Ayutthaya. It is actually Thonburi but it was rather short-lived compared to the Ayutthaya and Bangkok.

Bangkok. The capital prior to Bangkok was Ayutthaya, which is about an hour or so north of Bangkok.

Bangkok or Krung Thep is the same.

In official calling, we named Bangkok. But for local people, we also can call "Bangkok" or even "Krung Thep" is the same
