What is being a pilot like on family life and family? How much do pilots get paid? Is it a fun or hard job? What is better, to be a a pilot for Southwest Airlines, or Delta Connection (atlantic southeast airlines)

Why is it that anything with an on/off switch has to be turned off when the plane takes off, and when it's landing? It has never been explained to me, and I just can't find any justifiable reason other than maybe it ruining your phone or something. I've had my phone on during the whole duration of a flight once and no one was affected by it, nor was it ruined, so I'm a bit confused. Help anyone?

I am flying in two days time and it is calling for heavy thunder and lightening storms in Toronto on that night. I hate flying as it is and I am wondering if I should just cancel my flight. I was in a bad lightening storm in an airplane years ago and it was terrifying and I never forgot it. I do not want to go through this again. Yet, I want to see my family members in Toronto. What can I do? Any advice appreciated and thanks!!

I would like to know what the airplane was like if you have ever seen it. If you're going to say something mean, sarcastic, or anything like that, don't talk to me at all, or I'll report you.

How many pounds of luggage can I carry in American Airlines to London (From San Fran to London via New York). I think I'm allowed 2 suitcases but not sure how many pounds. Also since there is a domestic flight involved as well, is the weight restriction the same for both. Thanks.
