If so what other method is there? ex. school ID, social secruity #? etc.?

You need a government issued photo ID, so something like a SS card wouldn't work. No way to prove that it's yours cause it has no picture.

I know a passport will work, military ID, or a state issued ID card (for people who don't drive). Other than that, you may be out of luck.

Depends on where you are going, if you are leaving the country a passport is required even if you do not normally require a passport to get there. Passports are the best form of ID but, if not, a state/provincially issued ID plus a birth certificate is best if flying within the country.

I suggest that you check with a travel agent or the TSA website.

any photo ide. state id , passport. do not need a driver license but still have to have valid. why not call the TSA to ensure you have a valid document.

ya you can fly on a plane withouth a driver license.
but you can't fly without a passport.
i think it would be easier if you just got a passport.

...U.S. Passport works just fine.... (your social security card is not for ID...read the card)...
