you can buy duty free/water etc after you have cleared security.. therefore when you are airside. Should you be travelling eg new york - london. You can then get off the plane in london with the liquids, quite happily. Should you be then eg travelling on to Edinburgh, you would require to put the liquids into your suitcase for this flight. NO LIQUIDS (apart from the rules re 100ml bottles of stuff in clear bags) should be in your hand luggage. Hope this helps:-)

(ps I live in the UK.. but gave you the example as above. If eg you are leaving from UK - New York..the same applies ie liquid can only be got after you've went through security. I just wanted you to know the example above, should you be doing a trip that involves two airports. Hope that makes sense)!

You must be joking! On some budget airlines, selling drinks is the only thing that stops them going bust!

You can drink as much as you like and if in Business class as much as you like for free.

Don't show any signs of having had too much booze however because you'll be met at your destination airport by the local cops...

In the UK, you cannot take liquids in quantites of more 100ml through airport security. You can buy drinks airside and take them onboard your flight.

Maybe some airports do allow passengers to carry drinks but some do not allow any liquids to be transported on the aeroplane.
