Please can someone in the know tell me how the big luggage (suitcases, etc, NOT hand luggage) is checked before putting on planes? Are they all somehow scanned or x-rayed? If not, it would still seem possible that a suicide bomber could smuggle a bomb into the plane's hold, and then have a co-conspirator remotely detonate it from the ground, using something like a mobile phone?

Yep! You may NOT take liquids on any aircraft today! water, baby's milk, soda, juice. NOTHING. There was a terrorist plot in Britain today, and this is the rule. NO LIQUIDS. EXPECT DELAYS! at the airport today no matter where you are going this is the rule for everywhere! GET TO THE AIRPORT EARLY TODAY!

Thanks,

Airline Employee

She is 16 and will be visiting her father and I'm pretty sure she won't need a chaperone, but how do I book it because it says you have to buy an adult ticket with a minor ticket? Plus, I won't be able to accompany her to the airport to check her in. Is that okay?

The TV is well-packed and fits checked-baggage size requirements. It is coming from DTW to SFO... the major airline websites don't seem to talk about this: either it's so obvious that you can or so obvious that you can't check a TV, I don't know which. Furthermore, will changes in air pressure burst the tube?

Is it true that the reason you are meant to put your head between your knees in a plane crash, as told to on the airline safety cards, is not for safety reasons, but to protect the jaw, so that bodies can be identified through dental records ?

Sorry it's a bit morbid !
