No, you will not check with the airline, It has nothing to do with the airline. They are just a carrier at that airport with no affiliation to TSA (Transportation Security Administration) The Airline won't tell you.

there is your answer, not the airline.

Good luck

The airlines websites do have a list of approved/banned items as well as the size limits. For US Domestic carriers you are allowed 2 checked pieces no more than 50lb and 62 linear inches, which is length + width + height. Carry ons are not to be more than 22"x14"x9" or 45 linear inches.

Check the airlines websites,,,DO NOT BOTHER TO CALL!! You will get routed to an India call center most likely and barely be able to understand them and end up getting madder and more confused than you were to start with. The websites will answer everything you need to know.

The TSA is the official say-so of what you can carry on board, the FAA is the official on the size, but the airlines have all the information as well.

Check the airline's Web site, or call their reservations number. For U.S. domestic flights, you can generally take one carry on bag and one personal item on the plane (not including checked baggage). In practice, that usually means one roller bag and a smaller item such as a purse, computer case or camera bag. How tough they are on enforcing those limits varies among airlines and airports, but your carry on must be able to fit in the overhead compartment.

The airlines have differering limits on checked baggage. However, all of them are starting to enforce the weight limits. Expect to pay extra (perhaps $50 - $100) if your bag is overweight, as defined by your airline.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!
