Flying distances increase as we go further higher into the sky as Length of an arc increases if the radius increases i.e the distance from the centre of the earth. . If a plane flies at a height of say 10000 feet as say 30000 feet , the distance it has to fly between any two places on the earth will be less . Still planes choose to fly at 30000 feet or so. I am told it is because of fuel economy . Is it so can some one provide more details .

I got a remote controlled Airplane from my Sister for Christmas. I just got back from flying it. It took off great and then climbed real high and then it just kept flying South. WTF?? The remote stopped working and that plane is somehwere in Alabama last I heard.

We are planning a trip to Reno, NV flying from the Virginia area and I am trying to figure out if it is okay to take my 9 month old daughter on an airplane. If it is then I just need to find out how I can prepare my daughter for the trip so it can be as comfortable as possible for her. I am concerned because I have flew before for the 1st time and nobody told me that I needed to chew gum and or ware ear plugs to decrease the discomfort of pressure in the ears. The inside of my ears hurt so bad I kept patting the side of my neck because I thought my ear drum had busted and was bleeding. Any helpful advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

How about this- instead of taking up every last thing like toothpaste and shavers, give everybody a shotgun?
Then, if the terrorist pulls out a bomb, Billy and Sam can blow his brains out!

I know safety (cartridge) razors are allowed, so I can't imagine that electric razors wouldn't be since they aren't even really as sharp as a safety razor, but I just wanted to ask someone who has carried on recently (I just got an electric) to confirm that these are allowed to be brought in carry-on luggage.

Thanks in advance!

Say I have enough miles on Continental for one flight in the US and enough miles on United to fly four of five family members in the US. So now I want to trade the Continental miles for United miles so the family can fly together. Is there any web site that puts that all together?

I have this huge oscar mayer wienermobile, it's like a big pillow. It's 36" by 12" by 14", so it is 62 linear inches, bigger than the carry on limit. However, it is a pillow and I could stuff it into the overhead bin. Here is a picture of it. http://paul.jalr.org/lg/tn_omw1.JPG

My last airline seat had a short seatbelt and I could not get it clicked, so I purchased one of my own...FAA approved.
I plan to put it in my pockebook to go through security. Am I going to have a problem taking it onto the plane. I may not even need it, but I want to have it in case. I wondered because of it being metal. Has anyone brought one on a plane and gone through security with it. Please share your experience with me. I am flying Delta Airlines.

Thank you for your input.
