My last airline seat had a short seatbelt and I could not get it clicked, so I purchased one of my own...FAA approved.
I plan to put it in my pockebook to go through security. Am I going to have a problem taking it onto the plane. I may not even need it, but I want to have it in case. I wondered because of it being metal. Has anyone brought one on a plane and gone through security with it. Please share your experience with me. I am flying Delta Airlines.

Thank you for your input.

If you put it in your purse it will be fine. If it is in your pocket, it will set off the metal detector and you'll need extra screening. You'll still be fine taking it through, but it will take longer this way. Put it in something that you put through the x-ray machine and you won't have any problems.

Every airline has a few seat belt extenders onboard every aircraft. The crew uses them to display seatbelt use. You can see the size (width, legroom, reclining pitch, etc) of every seat on mosts US airlines planes by going to www.seatguru.com and checking what type of airplane you are flying on.

An airplane seatbelt will fit anyone who is not grossly obese. Those people should be forced to buy two seat tickets so they do not "overflow" onto the person next to them. I know Southwest has this practice and I believe that Delta does also. If you fit this category, be prepared to pony up another ticket when you get to the airport.
